Dua malaikat yang hendak mencatat ganjarannya “kebingungan” tidak tahu bagaimana mencatat ganjaran ucapan tersebut. Maka mereka pun naik ke langit melaporkan kepada Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala.
“Wahai Tuhan kami, sesungguhnya hambaMu telah berdzikir dengan kalimat yang kami tidak mengetahui bagaimana harus menulisnya” kata dua malaikat tersebut.
Allah Azza wa Jalla bertanya kepada mereka, padahal Dia telah mengetahui apa yang terjadi. “Wahai malaikat, apa yang diucapkan hambaku itu?”
“Wahai Tuhanku, ia mengucapkan ‘Ya Rabbi lakal hamdu kamaa yanbaghii lijalaali wajhika wa ‘adhiimi sulthaanik’”
Lantas Allah Azza wa Jalla pun memberikan keputusan-Nya: “Tulislah sebagaimana yang diucapkan oleh hambaKu itu hingga kelak ia berjumpa denganKu dan Aku sendiri yang akan memberikan ganjaran kepadanya.”
